12 Ways to Fix Google Pixel 7 Pro Hotspot Not Working Issue

Method 1: Restart your Pixel 7 Pro

The simplest way to fix the hotspot issue is to restart your Pixel 7 Pro. During this process, the connecting networks and all the background running apps get closed.

Here’s how you can do this:

  • Press and hold the Power key and Volume Up button simultaneously.
  • When the power menu appears, tap on Restart.

Method 2: Check Signals Strength

Sometimes the hotspot might not work properly due to weak signal frequency and in that case, the connected devices will not work smoothly.

To get a better result from your hotspot you need strong cellular signals.

Method 3: Disable Battery Saver

Battery saver enables you to save power for your phone. But sometimes enabling battery saver may cause issues and these issues may affect the phone’s features.

Your phone hotspot might not work properly due to enabling of battery-saving mode. The best way to get rid of that issue is to disabled the battery saver mode.

And here’s how you can do this:

  • If the battery saver is on then swipe down the Notifications Panel from the top of your screen.
  • Now find the Battery saver 🔋 icon and tap on it to disable that feature.

Method 4: Turn off Airplane Mode

If you have accidentally ON the airplane mode on your Pixel 7 Pro, then you will be unable to use the hotspot on your device.

Airplane mode will disable all connectivity mediums such as Wi-Fi, Cellular, and hotspot. To use the hotspot you have to disable the airplane mode.

Steps to disabled airplane mode:

  • Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Notifications Panel.
  • Now if the ✈️ Airplane mode is ON, tap on it to disable that feature.

Method 5: Disable VPN

Most of the time the VPN is the real culprit behind the hotspot issues on your Pixel 7 Pro.

During enabling the hotspot, the first thing to do is to disable VPN.

Follow the down steps to disable VPN:

  • Scroll down from the top of your screen to see the Notifications Panel.
  • Now scroll and see if the VPN is on. If it is enabled, tap on it to disable that feature.
  • You can also turn off VPN from the Google 1 app. To do that, first open the Google 1 app.
  • After opening the app at the bottom tap on Benefits and then tap on the toggle button to disable VPN.

Method 6: Use Bluetooth Tethering

Most Android devices are nowadays capable of tethering options. Bluetooth tethering is also an option from which you can share an internet connection via Bluetooth with other devices.

Steps to enable Bluetooth tethering:

  • Go to the Settings of your phone.
  • Scroll down and tap on Networks & Internet and then tap on Hotspot & Tethering.
  • Here tap on Bluetooth Tethering to enable this feature.

Method 7: Check Distance

The actual distance of a mobile hotspot is 30 to 60 feet.

If you are using a hotspot out of range then you will be unable to connect your device to it. Therefore, a mobile hotspot won’t do you any good if you are at a remote location without a cellular signal.

Try to reduce your distance while using a hotspot between devices.

Method 8: Change Hotspot Security Type

By default, the hotspot security is assigned with WPA2- Personal which in some cases might cause an issue with connected devices.

The best choice is to change the security type from WPA2-Personal to WPA3-Personal. WPA3 is the most secure choice.

Steps to change hotspot security type:

  • Swipe down the Notifications Panel from the top of your screen.
  • Now press and hold the Hotspot Icon until the hotspot menu appears.
  • Here you can see the Security Type. Just tap on it.
  • Now tap on WPA3-Personal.

Method 9: Disable Turn off Hotspot Automatically

Most smartphones have the feature of automatically turning off a hotspot. Hotspot may turn off when no device is connected at a specific time and this may cause an issue with your Pixel 7 Pro hotspot.

You can disable this feature in settings. Here’s how you can do this:

  • Swipe down the Notifications Panel from the top of your screen.
  • Now press and hold the Hotspot Icon until the hotspot menu appears.
  • Here you can see the Turn off Hotspot Automatically option, if it is enabled then tap on it to disable this feature.

Method 10: Disable Updates and Downloads

We use a bunch of apps on our smartphones and by the time they need updates and this may cause a slow internet connection for hotspot users. You may check these updates from play store settings and change them to Don’t Auto-Updates Apps.

And also close the OS updates, or other downloads that are slowing down your internet speed.

Method 11: Update Software
